Details for the 2027 Hill Visit process specific to men’s fraternities:
- Organizations are asked to recruit students to lobby. Some organizations run their own internal process for recruiting, selecting and nominating their students for the experience, while other organizations allow any member to apply and work with the NIC staff on the backend to endorse selected students. The NIC supports both ways!
- To be considered by the selection committee, students must complete the online application by October 5, 2026.
- The committee prioritizes the following areas when selecting students:
- Student government leadership
- Experience with political internships
- Student representation on their college/university board
- Campus representation
- Geographical diversity
- IFC leadership
- Chapter leadership
- Inter/national organizations will be asked to confirm the participation of selected students by mid-January.
- Selected students who have also been confirmed by their inter/national organization will be notified of their status in mid-January.
Registration & Costs
Related Costs:
- Registration for fraternity students is $750, which includes a cash stipend ($150) for meals and two nights in the host hotel (check in February 22; check out February 24). NIC staff will invoice the registration fee to organizations that are sponsoring students.
- Students should contact their fraternity headquarters staff to inquire about their ability to cover travel expenses; the NIC does not cover any portion of traveling to D.C.
- Registration for alumni is $150.
Registration Form: After students have been selected in November, they will be provided a form to complete to secure their participation.
Hotel Rooms: The NIC staff will handle all rooming reservations for students. Every attempt will be made to place students with a roommate from the same organization. Students who insist on a single room will be charged separately by the NIC for the additional rooming charges.
